About Paddle Sports Lifestyle

I'm Kim Peek.

I started running in my 40s, discovered I loved triathlon, became a running and triathlon coach, became obsessed with understanding movement, got certified in a half dozen fitness programs, and took a detour from coaching when breast cancer treatment changed the way my brain works.

I love being outside, moving my body, and finding new challenges. I'm a personal development geek, own a content marketing agency, and help motivational speakers and others use their voices and amplify their messages to create positive change in the world.

This year, I'm taking on the MR340, a 340 mile paddling race along the Missouri River. I've created a podcast, this website, and social media accounts so you can follow along.

I hope to inspire you to get out on the water to find your own epic adventure.

I believe that in order to live a long, happy, healthy life, we need:

  • Community

  • Movement

  • Nutrition

  • Time in Nature

  • Positive Coping Habits

  • A Champion's Mindset

And that happiness comes from finding a sense of purpose, pursuing meaningful relationships, and cultivating a positive outlook on life. Ultimately, true happiness comes from within, and it is up to us to cultivate a mindset of gratitude, resilience, and optimism as we navigate the ups and downs of life.

We have the power to write our own story, to change the ending, to declare it's time for a PLOT TWIST! We can apply the lessons learned on the water to success in life and business so we can ride life's waves and find our own happily ever after.

In 2023, Kim lined up for the MR340 — a 340-mile non-stop race on the Missouri River — as a complete newbie paddler with more determination than experience. With a massive learning curve and race day looming, she launched the Paddle Sports Lifestyle Podcast to document the journey in real time.

Season One drops listeners straight into the deep end as Kim gets in over her head (sometimes literally), makes rookie mistakes, asks a million questions, and gradually builds the skills and confidence needed to face the world’s longest nonstop river race.

Learn alongside Kim and her friends as they take a fast-track course in everything paddling: boats, paddles, gear, gadgets, safety, river strategy, training, nutrition, navigation, and the mental game required to keep going when quitting would be easier.

Whether you’re brand new to paddling, curious about endurance racing, or simply love a good adventure story, follow along!

Later seasons include interviews with MR340 paddlers and crews.
